Vortex Optics manufactures sporting optics including binoculars, spotting scopes, riflescopes and red dots. They have products specifically designed for two core customer groups: tactical (e.g. law enforcement and military) and western hunters. This poses a problem because each group has a different interest and style that is specific to them. The 2017 Vortex Catalog was created to fit both of these audiences in one single catalog. Thus, the flip catalog was born.

Tactical Side
This side was specifically designed for the tactical audience. Every image was taken at our in-house photo studio. I art directed and organized the different props in each photo. Bringing in some cooler tones, each product has a specific theme to the background and props to help show the different environments they will most likely be in. This side is structured with a beauty shot of the product in action on one spread and the detailed specifications on the following page. At the end of the section is a warranty and gear spread. That is where they flip to the other side.







Hunting Side
This side was specifically designed for the western hunting audience. With its aspiring lifestyle images, the audience gets transported to a view they know and love. At the end of the section is a warranty and gear spread. That is where they flip to the other side.
